Proklaim On the Making Of “REASON 2 BELIEVE”
What was the creative process like for this particular "REASON 2 BELIEVE?"
Reason 2 Believe was mich like all the songs I tried to record. I selected a beat from the stash I had recently purchased and got to writing to it. I tried to articulate what the beat made me feel.
Can you talk about the recording and production process for "REASON 2 BELIEVE?"
Recording it was pretty organic. I wrote the first verse and laid it down then the chorus I got by freestyling what came to my mind melodically. With all the recent news on Artificial Intelligence and watching the first tourist trip to space orbit on T.V., I thought I had to include it in the hook. I also had to discuss the recent death of a South African rap icon who was assassinated in Durban South Africa. His name was AKA and it got me thinking of life and purpose as it relates to urban music and culture.
What are you most proud about this track?
I like the 2nd verse a lot in terms of its unique cadence and eloquence and contrast to verse 1.
Can you tell us a bit about yourself and how you got started in music?
I have liked hip hop music from since I heard it for the 1st time as a child. I always played it but far less today. I began trying to make rap music after I finished university and have continued to do so because it really excited me to create and to try to do so in new unique ways.
Where do you find inspiration for your songs or musical ideas?
I love trying to deliver messages of Truth and lessons I have learnt along life's path and still try to do so in a way that does not copy what the current trends are in music
