Noah Kahlil On the Making Of “Candy”

What was the initial spark or idea that led to the creation of "Candy?"

“Candy” really started with finding that dreamy synth loop. From there it all just flowed out until the second verse. Had to sit on it for a little for that to present itself.

How do you feel this song represents your artistic identity?

It definitely plays into the fantasy frequency that makes up my energy. It's also fun, doesn't need to be that deep, but can go deeper if you want to take it there.

What was your favorite moment in making the music video?

When we came across this facade with the lights. It was like "Oh yea this was waiting for us."

Can you tell us more about you as an artist?

I've been on a journey just reawakening the elements of me that the teenage years and culture bs worked to suppress. I'm all about freedom of spirit while also understanding the power of one person. I just want to make what I think is hip and help people widen their perspective. People need to be free to be their most fulfilled, loving selves.

Can you walk us through your creative process when writing and composing music?

I usually start with a warm up. Messing around with old ideas, trying out new ones, and then something resonates with me and I lock in on that. I ride that wave until it can't carry me anymore, then I move on to something else. Maybe music or if the creative sense is done, something completely different.
