5 Q&A With Steve Pointmeier

How did you come up with the idea?

I try to find 1-3 songs a year to record for Radio, and this one being my #11 release I thought i would try a cover. I do this song live at my shows, and the audience seems to like this one, so i took it into the studio.

Can you share any interesting or unique musical elements or production techniques used in this song?

I had Bart triple dub my vocals on this track. He used similar but different takes of my vocals.

What impact do you hope "Love or something like it" will have on your audience?

I'm hoping it’ll make them want to dance and move them both physically and spiritually.

Can you tell us more about you as an artist?

I have been at this music thing for most of my life, whether it was me singing on the school bus on a field trip in elementary school, to my next live gig in Edmonton Alberta this coming Friday at the Starlit Room, plus releasing songs to radio has carved me a comfortable living and at the very least made it justifiable monetarily to continue to strive to go further.

What's your favorite part about performing live? How do you connect with your audience during a performance?

I love to make eye contact with the audience and feel the connection through the music with strangers.
