Del'Noire On the Making Of “Tyler Down”
What was the initial spark or idea that led to the creation of "Tyler Down?"
This song is actually a cover song, Del’Noire covering Matyascorvinus i.e. I’m covering myself. The original Tyler was released couple of years ago as a classical guitar piece. So, I decided to give it a different approach, which manifested itself as the song we are talking about right now.
Were there any challenges or obstacles you faced while creating this single?
None. It was very easy and natural for me to write, mix and master. It is the song I finally managed to find my very own voice on. Or sound. I’m very happy with the result. However, I had to work a lot to achieve this; study and practice studio gimmicks to get what I wanted. For a quite long time. So, there were some challenges in making it work out. But musically it was a very easy piece.
Can you describe the emotions or feelings you hope "Tyler Down" evokes in listeners?
Well, nothing special, as a matter of fact. I only hope it evokes some feelings. I think it also has happened. It has been received very well.
What is your creative vision as an artist?
My creative vision is to make moody, melancholic, instrumental music. To combine old-school elements with modern. That’s why I’m using piano instead of synth as the main instrument. Piano describes my deeper feelings the best and I feel very comfortable to write for it. Especially writing harmonies, which seem to be upwelling from somewhere very deep. It’s almost cathartic.
What is the best part of being a musician?
For me, music seems to be a window to my soul, to some extent. Even though I’ve been making my own music for years now, I still do not know how the melodies are born. They just emerge from my inner self. So, for me, it’s almost a spiritual process. I could not imagine a situation, where I’m sitting down and consciously deciding to make a song. For me, music cannot be forced. It comes out when it’s time to come out.
I think the best part is the small miracle happening every time my mind creates a good melody.
