V of 40M On the Making Of “Martin Luther”
What was the creative process like for this particular song?
Simply took a message given from the Creator, translated through the Universe and empowered by the Ancestors and shaped it into one of the most universally overstood languages in the world - music. For my people in particular, drill is the way of the youth. The beat or instrumental provided the vibe and afore mentioned filled in the blanks. The rest is as they say, history or in this case - “OURstory.”
How do you feel "Martin Luther" represents your artistic identity?
It’s only a small part of the package and evolution but it carries the V of 40M standard of informing, inspiring and mobilizing. “Martin Luther” represents the awareness and self-defense aspects of the movement and subsequent revolution. Being as I’m a revolutionist, releases such as this serve as a calling card for who I am and what is that I do.
What was your favorite moment in making the music video?
Would have the say, the scenes filmed inside of the “church” and the scenes shot outside with members and company. Shoutout to the M’s, the comrades and attendees of course. My babies, FG4s. Thrilla no doubt, 40M Oc, 40M Tye, cuzzo Chef and 40M Lo. Shoutout to babe, Curt and Mike too. Without all of them, the video wouldn’t have been what it was. Appreciate you all.
Can you tell us more about you as an artist?
Yeah, if it’s not revolutionary then it’s not V of 40M. Everything I create is for the people and for the movement. This part of the saga began in 2020 with “No Church on Sunday” and has only morphed into greater since. We’ve only released a handful of singles so far for focus and strategic purposes but the results and reception have been instrumental in creating the platform and mass awareness we have generated thus far and this is only the beginning. There’s a lot more to come and mad work to be done so stay tuned. V of 40M on all socials.
Are there any specific themes or messages that you aim to convey through your music?
Absolutely. The American Melanite or “Black” people in America are asserting their International Right of Self Determination and unilaterally seceding from the US as an independent, autonomously sovereign nation-state. According to international norms, the mere mention of such by a group is supposed to be all that is needed for it to be taken into serious consideration by global community but we’ll see how that goes however. Self-awareness, self-sufficiency, self-defense and self-determination are the messages of the day. That we are a nation of many, millions to be exact capable of self governance - not just a commune of disenfranchised, colonized and assimilated people. That we are just as able as any other people of the world to “do 4 self” without undesired external involvement or interference and that our greatest opposition lies within ourselves. Other groups, governments, etc do not have the power to stop us in the end - only we can and the time is now! If not us, who? If not now, when? BIG 4’s!
