Twin Seeds On the Making Of “Unguided 2.0 (feat Martim Pinto)”
What was the creative process like for this particular single?
It was quite fun. The song had already been recorded and released on our debut album ‘Grumpy Euphoria’ but back then we were an instrumental band. This was the first song with our new vocalist Joana Mafalda and we invited our friend Martim Pinto of groove metal band Hórus to join the ride. It was quite exciting to figure out how to insert vocals in a way that made sense with the song.
Were there any memorable or standout moments during the recording sessions for "Unguided 2.0 (feat Martim Pinto)?"
Joana has this habit of saying " na batata" (Portuguese for in the potato) when something is good. So as she was recording she would often say it which made everyone laugh from time to time.
How do you feel "Unguided 2.0 (feat Martim Pinto)" represents your artistic identity?
It is a mix of a lot of things. It is light and fun but dark and heavy, melodic but also harsh. The vocals really highlighted all of that.
How would you describe your musical style or genre?
Difficult to say because we have a lot of influences from different genres. We think progressive metal might be what fits best. And since we have a thing for raccoons, raccoon progressive metal would be it.
Are there any specific themes or messages that you aim to convey through your music?
We aim to talk about matters that we feel are important to ourselves. “Unguided 2.0” is about how important the next generations are for the future of the world. But we also like to be a bit silly from time to time, so we may also write songs which are less serious.
