T Is For Thomas Band Releases “More Or Less A King”

“You could be more, you could be more or less” the mantra for this tale of bitter disappointment on meeting your idols, coupled with the frustration of acquaintances endless talk of coat tail greatness…
Many walks of life are here, the clown, the sycophant, the cat and the emperor with his cape and his new clothes.

The T Is For Thomas Band tell it how they’ve seen it.

“Better hope and pray they don’t take away, that broad sheet paper crown” - fingers crossed huh!

Recorded in Neeps End, Sheffield over 6 days in a freezing cold rehearsal room “More Or Less A King” packs a punch. Finished up at Abbey Road, get yer ears around this Ziggy tinged belter.

The T Is For Thomas Band is the pen name for the musings of Sheffield stalwart Tom Hogg. Hogg has history; in previous incarnations he has worked with some of the greats. The debut album from Hoggboy - “Or8?” was produced by Mr Chris Thomas (Beatles, Sex Pistols, INXS, Pretenders), while Mr Richard Hawley produced the Hoggs second long player along with The Hosts debut “Softly, Softly” featuring BBC 6 Music and Radio 2 favourite “September Song”

This recording pedigree has seen him tour with some of the coolest in the business including, Paul Weller, The Libertines, The Walkmen, Cold War Kids, The White Stripes, The Strokes and The Yeah Yeah Yeahs….to name just a few. Taking in cities all over the world. So what now…?

Hogg started work on what would become the T Is For Thomas Band's debut album in his living room in the summer of 2022, as work progressed he realised he would need a band. Reunited in part with his old Hoggboy compadres (Rich and Hugh), the threesome were quickly 4 with producer and keyboard extraordinaire David Kuratsu climbing aboard and the aptly named Mike “The Knife” (Hoggs next door neighbour) becoming number 5, on bass - and so it began.

Their as yet unnamed debut album is currently being recorded and mixed at Ross Orton’s, “McCall Sound” Studio in Attercliffe, Sheffield (Arctic Monkeys, Yard Act, The Vaccines, Ibibio Sound Machine) and will be with the world late 2024.

The band plays their first shows in April this year to coincide with the release of debut single “More Or Less A King” out on Suck Records - 15/04/2024.
