Sonomancer On the Making Of “Dreamscapes (2024 Edition)”
What was the initial spark or idea that led to the creation of "Dreamscapes (2024 Edition)?
The idea for “Dreamscapes” came from a deep fascination with how music can create immersive, almost otherworldly experiences. I wanted to explore the concept of dream states and how sound can transport listeners into those surreal spaces. The 2024 edition builds on that vision, blending futuristic visual elements with the organic soundscapes, pushing the boundaries of where sound and visuals can take you.
Can you share any interesting or unique musical elements or production techniques used in "Dreamscapes (2024 Edition)?"
One of the key elements is the layering of both organic and electronic sounds. I incorporated a harp-like synth that runs throughout the track, giving it a dreamlike, meditative quality, but layered live drums and electric guitar over the top of that. The track also uses a progressive build-up, where each instrument or element enters the mix one by one, almost like waking up into different phases of a dream. Collaborating with FineSkyAi for the visuals really brought that vision to life, integrating the music and AI visuals in a seamless way.
What was your favorite moment in making the music video?
My favorite moment was seeing the AI visuals from FineSkyAi blend perfectly with the track’s atmosphere. There’s something incredibly special about seeing how music and visuals come together to create a whole new experience for the audience. Watching it all unfold felt like the music had come alive in a visual space and in a different way from before.
Can you walk us through your creative process when writing and composing music?
My process is more intuitive these days. I usually start with a concept or an emotion I want to explore, and from there, I build the sound around it. I often experiment with different instruments and electronic elements, layering sounds until I find the right balance. I also like to let the track evolve naturally—sometimes what starts as a simple melody turns into something much more complex by the end.
How do you continuously grow and evolve as an artist?
I think the key is staying curious and open to new influences. I’m constantly inspired by different genres, technologies, and collaborations, like the one with FineSkyAi. Pushing boundaries, whether through sound or visual collaborations, helps me keep evolving and exploring new creative territories.
