Lab Rat On the Making Of “Rolling Loud”

Australian based alt-rock grunge rap artist Lab Rat released his third UK single “Rolling Loud” on 24th January via Mushroom Pillow. This is the follow up to the critically acclaimed singles “Drunk” & “Exit Path” and the third single from his forthcoming album.

What was the initial spark or idea that led to the creation of "Rolling Loud?"

Honestly the riff. I wrote the riff and within 15 minutes the rest was written.

Were there any memorable or standout moments during the recording sessions for this song?

I think this was the first song where I kai started recording some vocals in the records.

What impact do you hope "Rolling Loud" will have on your audience?

Make them move when they hear it live.

Was there a pivotal moment in your life when you decided to follow your path as a musician?

I remember seeing my uncle drumming on stage when I was about 8 years old and that's what set off the whole thing.

Are there any specific themes or messages that you aim to convey through your music?

I just hope that the music will be there when someone might need it, the same way it was for me when I was a kid.
