Drug Store Raid On the Making Of “Vi Är Finnjävlar”

Can you tell us more about “Vi Är Finnjävlar?"

“Vi är Finnjävlar” is a modern tale about the history of Finland, mixed in sarcasm. The saying that Finland is "the happiest country in the World", sort of ain't true for all of us. I guess the point is to challenge the overall view of what is going on. And at the same time, it's just a song to smirk at.

Were there any memorable or standout moments during the recording sessions for this single?

The power went out from the whole house.

What impact do you hope "Vi Är Finnjävlar" will have on your audience?

Alternative ways of living and seeing live. Have fun. Dance.

Can you tell us more about you as a band?

Formed by our singer/guitarist Otto and keyboardist Eemi, the idea of a band seemed something like a good idea after 2 minutes of knowing each other. There are five of us, each different with different tastes as well. Making music that combines old New York and Manchester in modern Helsinki. Otto makes most of our songs and the rest of the band brings their own musical waves into it. We're growing all the time, so the next stuff might be something completely different.

Where do you find inspiration for your songs or musical ideas?

We're not taking everything so seriously, but we make it seriously. So if there's a good bass line with a drive into it, we're gonna jump into it. If there's a funky groove with a disco beat, we're jumping into it. Mixing genres and having just fun.
