Chris Thomas & The Merrymakers On the Making Of "FromTheTop 2.0"

What was the creative process like for this particular single?

It was done all DIY home studio minimal equipment in about two days all said and done mixed and mastered.

Was there any challenge that you encountered while making "FromTheTop 2.0?"

The drums are always the hardest to immaculate and I’m always hard on myself with the vocals not being perfect.

What impact do you hope "FromTheTop 2.0" will have on your audience?

I hope they’ll see a raw more edgy side not but still free flowing altogether.

How did you first become interested in music, and when did you start playing your instrument or singing?

I started in music by listening to Nirvana and all those underground bands like the Melvin’s Mudhoney and Sonic Youth they just made music seem like anybody who lived and loved it could do it themself so I took on at 12 years old playing guitar and subsequently singing and writing all my own songs occasionally learning a cover or two.

How do you continuously grow and evolve as an artist?

I’m always trying to network locally and globally to get honest feedback and you’d be surprised how much people’s opinion can help see what you truly might mean to other people.
