Blueburst Releases ‘Significance’

Blueburst, the brainchild of Atlanta singer-guitarist Craig Douglas Miller, emerges from the depths of musical hibernation with their highly anticipated new album, ‘Significance’. The album, which drops Oct 20th, 2023, showcases Miller's triumphant return to the music scene, delivering a captivating blend of heartfelt songwriting and mesmerizing soundscapes.

Following an early wave of major label interest for his 90s band The Reach that fell short, Miller embarked on a two-decade-long hiatus, grappling with clinical depression, writer's block, and the occasional indulgence in "perhaps a few too many gin and tonics," as he candidly confesses. But the dormant echoes of his musical dreams persisted, and a serendipitous encounter with legendary guitarist Marty Willson-Piper (of The Church, Noctorum, and All About Eve) reignited Miller's creative fire.

Inspired by their partnership, Miller resurrected his home studio and set out to create the foundation of Blueburst's debut album, ‘Significance.’ Drawing from the influences of his formative years, Miller taps into the raw authenticity of the 80s alternative and post-punk scenes that continue to captivate listeners. With a bold and timeless sonic palette, Blueburst infuses their music with an unapologetically retro charm that proudly wears its oldwave inspirations on its sleeve.

Miller's musical collaborators, including drummers Michael Jerome and Brian Platt, bassist Ryan Kelly, and vocalist Riley Schatz, bring their impressive professional pedigrees to the table, elevating the sonic landscape of Blueburst's music. With Marty Willson-Piper's distinctive and creative guitar work sprinkled throughout the composition, Significance is a dynamic and intelligent collection that crunches, chimes, jangles and pounds.
