BIAS On the Making Of “OGNI ISTANTE”
What was the creative process like for this particular "OGNI ISTANTE?"
The music and melody came about by playing guitar at home, but all the arranging was done in the studio by experimenting with sounds and rhythmic patterns. Instead, the lyrics were the result of a trip to Iceland, which through its majestic and silent landscapes triggered deep emotions, feelings and memories for me toward a person who was distant at the time.
Can you talk about the recording and production process for "OGNI ISTANTE?"
Pre-production and recording were all done in my home studio, as always. Then I involved Michele Suzzi (whom I thank from the bottom of my heart) for mixing and mastering. I am very satisfied with the result.
What do you like the best about this track?
I am probably conditioned by the emotional transport behind this song, but I think it is the best song I have ever written.
Do you have any specific rituals or routines that help you get into the right mindset for composing?
No, as far as music is concerned, the creative process is very random and spontaneous. Most of my songs are born while strumming the guitar on the couch or while experimenting with sounds and rhythmic patterns in the studio. The lyrics, on the other hand, are more reasoned in the sense that they require an elaboration of situations and emotions that I experience at a certain moment.
Collaboration is often crucial in music production. How do you collaborate with artists and other professionals to bring a project to life?
Collaborations arise mainly from a human feeling that is created with people I know in the artistic-musical environment. This discourse applies to the producers, singers, musicians, and lyricists with whom I have worked in the realization of my songs and whom I thank for their talent and passion.
