Amazonica On the Making Of “New Start”
What was the initial spark or idea that led to the creation of "New Start?"
I was ushering a new age of my life and wanted to leave loads of negative energy behind. I was conjuring up a new life with this song thinking of great my life could be if I gave up X Y Z and it worked.. music is MAGIC.
Can you talk about the recording and production process for this "New Start?"
I recorded everything firstly in my apartment then sat on it for a while, revised it and finished it off. After that, I took it to Battery and Assult studios in London and worked with Cecil, an upcoming producer in London the legend Alan Moulder recommended to me. Cecil helped me get it to a place where it sounded even bigger.
What was your favorite moment in making the music video?
I think when my boyfriend came to be at the end of the video and I had been struck down with food poisoning and had been throwing up all night in a Premiere Inn Hotel in the north of England while we filmed on location. When Jake turned up he helped me feel much better and I managed to get home in one piece.
Do you have any memorable on-stage moments or performances that stand out to you?
Marilyn Manson got me to sing on stage with him on the last night of the USA tour in New Jersey. There are some YouTube videos of my spanking him on stage lol.
Are there any unconventional techniques you've experimented with that led to interesting results?
Sobriety, will make life way more weirder and crazier then you could ever imagine!
