A Rising Chapter On the Making Of ‘Forlorn Hope’

What was the creative process like for this particular EP?

It was an up-and-down process. For songs like "System Of The Damned," the writing process came naturally. For "Nightmare," we had to put in more effort. But that's what makes the process so exciting. In the end, we all love what we do and we are satisfied with the result.

Could you discuss the lyrical themes or messages conveyed in 'Forlorn Hope?'

Ok, here we go:

“Hated Society”:
This song is a shoutout to people who want to bring you down and bring negative energy into your life.

“The Chosen One”:
-> please refer to question 3

“System of the Damned”:
This one is about corruption, manipulation, crimes of governments, and social problems of today.

“Nightmare”:
The title of the song describes it really well. True fear, the deepest fears you get when your nightmares come true. Face them or be broken by them. This is where the EP title ‘Forlorn Hope’ gets real.

“Everything”:
-> please refer to question 3

Can you talk about any standout tracks on 'Forlorn Hope' and what makes them special to you?

For us, all tracks are special, but we think that “The Chosen One” and “Everything” are good examples. “The Chosen One” stands for pure motivation, for when you have to fight against your inner struggles. It doesn’t matter if it’s because of sports, music, work, or family issues. “Everything” is for our loved and lost ones, especially for the fathers of Jakob (vocals) and Alex (drummer). We honored them too on our first EP with the song “Never Forgotten Ones” and still miss them.

Can you tell us more about you as a band?

We are motivated and hungry to get more on stage. This is one of the best things for us besides our work and family life.

We played in other bands before and there were a lot of live shows. With ARC, it takes a little bit more time to get more shows. If you know something, let us know :)

Where do you find inspiration for your songs or musical ideas?

Our main songwriter is our drummer. He also mixes the records and creates the synth and other elements. He is an enthusiast of modern metal and especially core music. The style we want to play with ARC is the same for each of us, but in private, we all listen to different artists.
