Marie Möör et Les Autres Couleurs (aka) The Other Colors On the Making of ‘Nous ne sommes pas au monde’

What was the creative process like for this particular 'Nous ne sommes pas au monde?'

Marie writes and performs the lyrics, while Laurent produces the music. This creative collaboration can be described as a paradoxal collision, where, over time, the duo has developed a unique ability to harmonize, understanding each other without resorting to compromise. In the sense that it is not required, they each assert their respective integrities without conflict and without the fear of any imbalance, with one overshadowing the other. Equality offer the velocity and generates the energy necessary for the fusion process, and once that fusion is achieved, it results in the alchemy of a new music title, the most recent being 'Nous ne sommes pas au monde.'

Were there any specific recording techniques or equipment used to achieve the desired sound?

There's nothing particularly technical, even though the sound of Marie Möör and Les Autres Couleurs always presents itself beneath the veneer of a sophisticated production, the expectations of 'machinic desire,' the effects, the stereophonic illusion. And yet, the sought-after sound is deliberately raw, not in the sense of brutality, but in the sense of the primal gesture, the authentic, the spontaneous, the uncalculated, the accidental. So, the expected sound is the one that always transperces through.

What did you enjoy most about making 'Nous ne sommes pas au monde?'

The slowness of time where everything revolved in weightlessness, leading to the suddenness of a complete realization, within a few hours, the urgency.

What are some of the biggest challenges you have faced as a band, and how did you overcome them?

It's not something to overcome; it's something to live, the challenge... to persist.

How do you approach creating something new and different?

What if music were to journey from question to question without ever providing an answer?
