League of Pity “Let Me Out”
League of Pity is trouble. They are a force of nature, like a storm, a catastrophe, and is here to cause some disturbance to your life, and that only applies to the studio version of “Let Me Out.” You just know it by heart that if you spend a night seeing them live in New York City, they’re going to completely deconstruct your world. The 3 piece punk outfit creates a stadium-filling, aggressive sound with intense atmospheric effect.
Their melodies and energies are so intoxicating they just haunt you. “Let Me Out” is no doubt a banger. Chaotic and confrontational, with metallic drum and disobedient vocals in a noise-coiled guitar drones, splattering charisma of trouble-making all over the place. Embedded in the riffs and soundscapes, the mesmerizing chorus travel in the song in an indescribable, mysterious manner. The times when they are not sang aloud, you just simply hearing it in your head, as if a ghost lurking from the noise-coiled riffs and clashing drums.
Even within a short form, League of Pity manages to completely shift the energy from one to the other collectively. Before the ending rolls out a wicked, haunting repetition of “let me out,” the bridge suddenly draws you into a world of void and darkness, like a micro black hole that exists within the universe of “Let Me Out.” Then the soaring guitar solo picks up and throws it into a state of being melodic and metal. The chemistry between the three players is quite incredible. They simply create something authentic, fun, and spontaneous with mastery of the craft.
Sonically, League of Pity reminds you a little of Arctic Monkey—soaring through chaos and conflicts, emerges strength and hard-hitting melodies. Sitting between hardcore punk rock and metal, the track is unapologetic and straightforward. You just love that energy and that no-bullshit lyrics when they scream out “we’re going to the city” with attitude. They are a band you just know is going to rock hard on stage.
