5 Q&A With Spyderhuff

What inspired you to write the lyrics/music for "Drag and Drop?"

The song is expressive of the conditions that social media impresses on our culture like isolation, paranoia, and angst. The relentless throbbing beat of the song is like a headache that won’t go away.

How does this song fit into your overall artistic vision and what can listeners expect from you in the future?

We believe in writing about daily life authentically through an unfiltered lens with a healthy injection of sarcasm and irony.

What was your favorite moment in making the music video?

A favorite moment in any video is when you marry the right “mascot” with the vibe of the song. Allowing the “mascot” to reappear throughout the video creates a strong visual theme. In “Drag & Drop”, it’s the court jester puppet in front of the glow of the screen that creates the visual theme.

Can you tell us more about you as a band?

Spyderhuff offers a swampy and psychedelic blues-rock groove. With deep Detroit roots, Spyderhuff loves to bend and shape musical genres like bending and shaping metal in Motown. Most of the members grew up together in the Detroit area as friends and musicians in the late 60s and early 70s playing in bands from jazz-fusion to hard rock.

“Drag & Drop” is from the new EP “Everybody Needs a Dog” containing four tracks that are well suited for a nighttime road trip or chilling at a backyard barbecue.

How do you continuously grow and evolve as a band?

Always be authentically curious no matter how un-cool it makes you look.
