Secret Invasion Season 2 Isn’t Likely To Happen—Here’s Why

Marvel has yet to confirm whether or not there’ll be a second season to the Nick Fury-led television show. However, it’s not likely to happen.

Secret Invasion follows Nick Furry’s footstep, pitting him against Skrulls. Instead of asking for the Avengers’ help, he decides to keep the problem in house. Secret Invasion is a direct set-up to The Marvels, which will arrive later this year. And the unresolved and unexplained questions regarding Rhodey will likely be explained in Armor Wars, slated for next year.

So far, Disney+ shows have been limited to one season, with Loki and What If…? being the only two exceptions. The shows mainly serve to provide background and origin stories for upcoming feature films, and the plots and entanglements usually resolve themselves in the season finale.

In Secret Invasion, the invasion problem is resolved with Gravik being dead and G’iah working with Sonya to establish a safe place for Skrulls. Fury and Varra returns to S.A.B.E.R to negotiate peace with the Kree.

Additionally, the franchise’s schedule is pretty much full with projects slated all the way into 2027. The viewership of Secret Invasion hasn’t been encouraging, and the reviews aren’t exactly inspiring. The show currently has a 59% score on Rotten Tomatoes.
