National Cinema Day Returns With $4 Tickets
THE SECOND ANNUAL National Cinema Day is returning to the U. S. on Aug. 27. This Sunday, tickets for all movies in all formats at all showtimes will cost less than $4 in participating theaters across the U. S.
With more than 3,000 locations expected to take part in the one-day celebration, goers can enjoy a day of movies from the latest blockbuster hits to long-time classics with heavily discounted tickets. Leading chains like AMC and Regal are both participating brands.
Last year, National Cinema Day broke the record for the highest-attended day for theaters in 2022. Hosted by the Cinema Foundation, the event is in the spirit of celebrating “the power of movies to bring us all together.”
“The first edition of National Cinema Day recorded over 8.1 million visitors to movie theatres across the country, setting the single-day attendance record for 2022,” said Eduardo Acuna, CEO at Cineworld Group, the parent company of Regal.
This year, Regal has launched a $4 movies and $4 concession combo deal along with an expanded show schedule, featuring earlier showtimes and midnight showtimes to fit as many screenings as possible. Theaters are also adding more movies for goers to enjoy. From recent blockbuster hits like Barbie, Oppenheimer, The Super Mario Bros, and The Little Mermaid, to classic hits like Jurassic Park, moviegoers can expect a diverse selection of movies to choose from.
