Taylor Swift Concert Film Brings Eras Tour to America Theaters in October

On the first three nights of Taylor Swift’s six-night stand at L.A.’s SoFi Stadium, fans have spotted an extra battery of cameras, but for long, there have only been speculations and no revelation.

In the past, Swift has teamed up with streaming platforms like Netflix on the New Year’s Eve special of Reputation concert film. But this time is different, and much grander in size.

The Eras Tour is coming to the big screens. Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour, will hit movie theaters in the U.S. on Friday, Oct. 13.

Rest assured, this isn’t the kind of one or two-night specials music fans have gotten used to in the past. AMC, the film’s distributor, has promised to screen the concert film at every U.S. location at least four times a day Thursday through Sunday during its initial engagement. The screening will also be made available to the public through Cinemark and Regal among other unaffiliated theaters and chains.

The Eras Tour has been the most meaningful, electric experience of my life so far and I’m overjoyed to tell you that it’ll be coming to the big screen soon,” Swift wrote on Instagram for the announcement. “Starting Oct 13th you’ll be able to experience the concert film in theaters in North America! Tickets are on sale now at amctheatres.com. Eras attire, friendship bracelets, singing and dancing encouraged… 1, 2, 3 LGB!!!! (iykyk).”

Sam Wrench (Billie Eilish Live at the O2) helmed the film. The running time is listed as 2 hours and 45 minutes, slightly shorter than the standard 3 hours and 15 minutes at the stadium. A “secret songs” mini-set is included, but so far, it remains the wild card as to which songs will be featured. The possible choices are among “I Can See You,” “Maroon,” “Our Song,” “You Are in Love,” “Death by a Thousand Cuts” and “You’re on Your Own, Kid,” which she performed on the three nights of filming.

Tickets are priced at $19.89 for adults and $13.13 for children and seniors on standard screens with upcharges for IMAX and more advanced experiences. It’s unclear how long the film will stay in theaters, but tickets are now being sold through Nov. 4.

With The Eras Tour’s international leg yet to arrive, the concert film is only made available in the U.S. Swift will spend most of next year touring Europe, Japan, Australia, and other territories. She has also added a few more North American dates for fall next year.
