The Rolling Stones announced on Monday a forthcoming album titled Hackney Diamonds. This marks the band’s first studio album since 2005.

More information was revealed on Wednesday during The Tonight Show where the group’s three principals, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and Ron Wood joined Jimmy Fallon and Sydney Sweeney in an interview. The launch event was hosted and streamed exclusively worldwide via YouTube.

“Hackney may be at the heart of Hackney Diamonds, but this is a truly global moment we want to share with fans around the world via YouTube,” the group said on Monday.

The Rolling Stones have been working on new materials for years. At least one song will reportedly feature the Beatles’ Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr.

In 2021, one of the Stones’ founding members, Charlie Watts, passed away. Watts has been with the group since the Stones formed in 1962. He had played in nearly every recorded song and thousands of concerts except one.

The Rolling Stones have toured regularly throughout the 21st century, despite the members’ advanced age. Jagger turned 80 on July 26, but he has retained nearly his full measure of Bacall and physical energy. In the spirit of the band’s sixtieth anniversary in 2022, they underwent a multi-day Sixty tour in Europe.
