So much is happening at once. Massive and explosive. 30 years ago, a group of rebellious young guys headed into the studio and took a chance on an enormous idea. They had no idea if it would be dogshit or success. They just simply did what they wanted to do at the moment. Fast-forward to thirty years later, looking back, Dookie, the third studio album of Green Day basically shaped how the rest of the 1990s sounded.
And just like the way Dookie blew up a new sky back in the day, the pop-punk veterans are unleashing an epic anniversary reissue that’s a little bit hard to wrap your brain around at once.
The reissue comes as a 6-LP Vinyl, 4-CD box set and includes:
the original album,
17 unreleased demos,
6 studio outtakes (3 unreleased),
Live at Woodstock 1994,
Live in Barcelona 1994 (Unreleased).
Additionally, the epic box set comes with a roll of Dookie dog poop bags, five-button set, air freshener, postcard, bumper sticker, kiss-cut large magnet sheet, paper airplane, a black-and-white “Coloring Page,” and a poster of the alternative cover art.
The deluxe box set will be released on Sept. 29 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon with Prime delivery.
As a little treat for die-hard fans, they have also released 10 4-track demos, all now available digitally.
Recently, Green Day debuted a new song titled “1981” at d’ete de Quebec in Canada after the band’s departure from Reprise Records after their contract expired. Fans have been speculating whether the band is gearing up for a new album.
