Taylor Swift Reveals ‘1989 (Taylor’s Version)’ on Eras Tour
Many Swifties have suspected that 8.9 would be a special date, and they were right. On the night of Aug. 9, at L.A.’s SoFi Stadium, amidst The Eras Tour, Taylor Swift had a special announcement that she has been wanting to share for a long time.
“Here we are on the last night of the U.S. leg of the Eras Tour, in the eighth month of the year, and the ninth day,” Swift hinted. “Notice there are some new outfits in the show.” She referred to the all-blue set of wardrobe last night.
“There’s something that I’ve been planning for a really, really, really, ridiculously embarrassingly long time. And I think instead of just like telling you about it, I think I’ll just sort of show you something I’ve been excited to show you.” At the same time, the new 1989 album art appeared on the screens behind her with a sky-blue backdrop.
The re-recorded version of 1989 is coming out on Oct. 27, and the singer-songwriter said it was her favorite.
she concluded the announcement with two secret songs from the album: “New Romantics’ and “New Year’s Day.” On the final note, the news went live on her social media channels.
