Azieb On the Making Of “When I Called”

What was the initial spark or idea that led to the creation of "When I Called?"

I made the song to help me cope with a difficult situation. Music is my "safe space" to express uncomfortable emotions, which in turn helps me heal from them.

Were there any memorable or standout moments during the recording sessions for "When I Called?"

Yea, I didn't want to use auto-tune at all when recording it cuz I wanted to sound natural (technical side)

And when I was re-recording my scratch takes to capture a "higher quality" for the mix/master made me revisit those emotions. That was familiar but different at the same time.

What do you like the best about this track?

I'm proud of myself for letting go of the song and releasing it to the world. And the fact that I produced like %80 of it. The breakdown after the 2-minute mark makes my body tingle. I'm not sure if it's me being biased, but the song as a whole feels very moving/raw to me.
