Wrené Releases ‘Quam Sentire’
Canadian singer and producer, Wrené, has announced the release of her latest EP, 'Quam Sentire', following the release of her full-length album, 'Metamorphosis'. Announced via Instagram, she describes the work as a peace offering to pain.
Derived from the Latin phrase meaning "how to feel", 'Quam Sentire' showcases Wrené's exploration of the complexities of profound love and attachment. Drawing inspiration from a wide range of musical influences such as James Blake, 070 shake, Kelelah, and Trent Reznor, the EP takes listeners on a sonic journey through unorthodox sound profiles, soulful vocals, and transitions into heavier, more abrasive textures. Wrené's ability to seamlessly blend these elements with pop sensibilities contributes to her unique contribution to modern electronic music, reflecting her constant evolution as an artist since her name, Wrené, means 'reborn'.
The four tracks featured on 'Quam Sentire' were inspired by Wrené's personal experiences of grief, making this EP a deeply emotional and introspective work. In a recent episode of her podcast, "Echos into the Cosmos", Wrené delved into her creative process, describing it as a portrait of the emotional body. She stands out as one of the few independent artists who dare to create something original and authentically represent themselves amidst a sea of formulaic and 'desperate to please' music.
