Sukh Releases “Faith”

Sukh returns with his signature brand of hopeful melodies, on the pulse lyrics and introspective songwriting. Taking inspiration from classic literature, cinema and psychology he combines observational storytelling with a thoughtful and reflective mirror. His homegrown sound melds the rocky landscapes of The National, the rational optimism of Vampire Weekend and the emotional catharsis of Jason Isbell. Like a film director his instrumentation can vary considerably from the folky “Kings”, to the road trip worthy indie pop song “Flight”, and to the darker cinematic rock tones of “Airborne”. He draws from his role as a doctor to reflect on the struggles and the joys of being human.

2024 brings his return. "Faith" the first single from his new album "Heading East." “Faith” was a song born when Sukh was reflecting about the nature of long term relationships.

The song is about the art of giving in to each other, believing in each other, working towards something together.

Sukh is a Wolverhampton born, Manchester based singer-songwriter and doctor. Sukh's first record "Kings" was met with critical acclaim when it was released in 2013. Gruelling studies and an intense life on the hospital wards sparked Sukh to write his second record “Galactic Love Machine” which was released in October 2018. On the live circuit Sukh has supported the likes of Basia Bulat, Nizlopi, Beth Rowley, Stu Larsen and once shared the stage with Flyte’s Will Taylor. He has also performed at Kendal Calling several years running and has garnered support from BBC Radio 2 and BBC Introducing.
