What's the story behind this release?
This track was "influenced" by the re-election of the former president. Chaseman was between albums, but felt the need to do what he does best which is channeling his emotions into song. Like so many Americans, Chaseman felt an unparalleled level of shock and disgust following the election. He knew he had a message to share and needed to get it out there apart from any album. When asked if he worries about the song being too polarizing he quotes the Italian poet Dante Alighieri.... “The darkest places in hell are reserved for those who maintain their neutrality in times of moral crisis.”
Tell us what makes this release stand out and why it's significan
This is one of those rare songs that needed to be written. Chaseman says "I'm just glad for whatever reason I'm the one delivering that message. There are other songs out there about that guy who will remain nameless. However, most are corny novelty songs about his orange skin and crazy hair. Ultimately the song isn't about the president. It's a song about disillusionment. It's about me trying to find my place and make the next right decision in a country on the brink of insanity."
What was unique about the recording process?
Chaseman says "Lou knocked it out of the park with the production. The track is huge. It has that Phil Spector wall of sound quality to it. Lou even played a xylophone on it."
