SINSEI 82 On the Making Of “Only For Me”

Can you tell us about the inspiration behind "Only For Me" and the story it tells?

I was thinking back to an old relationship. One of my first loves when I was younger. I remember these feelings were new to me and I didn’t know how to navigate through them. And the way I used to process emotions was always to write about them. That has always been the way for me to make sense and to gain perspective.

How did you work with the producer or engineers to bring your vision for this song to life?

I was playing around with some chords and singing pieces of the chorus freestyling, thinking of that experience and trying to put myself into that mindspace again. Then my Partner/Producer K-Del heard it. He knew he heard something there and immediately took over the keys and we started putting the pieces together and creating the song.

Is there a particular message or theme you hope listeners take away from this single?

Try to openly communicate. Your peace of mind is worth more than any drama. Other than that I just hope people enjoy the song and make good memories with it.

How would you describe your musical style or genre?

I like to mix sounds and genres, so its difficult for me to pinpoint one style.

I’ve always liked so much different music and grew up listening to anything from Rap, Rnb, to Pop, Rock, Reggaeton, Afrobeats and Middle Eastern Music. I try my best to make different music and try not to fall into the trap of trends.

So yeah, but above all I just try to make music I love.

Have you ever performed in a different country or culture? How did that influence the show?

Yes I’ve performed in many different countries and there are of course cultural differences.

Some countries can’t sit still when they hear a rhythm and immediately start dancing others like to attentively listen to every word you singing. But both experiences are dope.
