Silja Rós Releases “...real love”
“...real love” is an easy listening groovy R&b pop song from the Icelandic Artist Silja Rós. Silja’s latest singles have kept rising the Icelandic National Radio Charts at Rás 2 & Bylgjan. In 2023 Silja was nominated as Iceland’s new rising star at Bylgjan Listening Awards. She is currently working on her third album that will be released in 2024.
Silja’s love for harmonies and jazz chords shines through, seeking inspiration from artists like Jacob Collier, Yebba & Olivia Dean. Real love is the perfect summer song and gives nostalgic vibe.
“I wrote ‘...real love’ about my time in LA, where I lived for couple of years. I lived in the same building as many of my friends so the vibe was kind of like in “friends”. We had a rooftop pool and it was easy to forget the time there. The energy was amazing, we were all following our dreams but at the same time enjoying every moment of it. Now we look back and have these great memories from that time of our life. The song is about that feeling, enjoying a warm summer day with your friends and forgetting the time.”
Silja Rós arranged the song with Magnus Dagsson & producer Stefán Örn Gunnlaugsson. Silja’s band includes Magnus Dagsson on guitar & rhodes, Baldur Kristjánsson on bass & Kristófer Nökkvi on drums.
