Ricky Leroy Brown On the Making Of “LUXURIA”
What was the creative process like for this particular 'LUXURIA?'
The concept was to create a music world based on the saying "two sides of the same coin".
Both songs talk about love but "Luxuria" is about the falling in love process and "Cor Dolor" is about the heartbreak. Even when it comes to the artists, I (Ricky) am the other side of Lucia and the other way around.
Were there any challenges or breakthrough moments during the songwriting process for 'LUXURIA?'
I gotta be honest with you. Luxuria was a very easy EPto write because I knew what Lucia was capable of and I already heard the whole piece in my mind long before we were producing it. When she finally came into the studio, we had finished the songs in maybe 2-3 hours.
What was your favorite moment in making the music video?
It was clearly my dialogue after I pressured Lucia and Maria to get on their knees.
Sadly you can`t hear anything of it but I uploaded some behind the scenes footage for that.
Can you tell us a bit about yourself and how you got started in music?
I started as a little drummer boy when I was about 8 years old and never stopped.
Even at that age I realised that you can use the same rythm section for different genres. Meaning that I not only fell in love with drums at that age but in music as a total.
10 years later I was starting my own projects like bands and songwriting and in 2012 the person a Ricky Leroy Brown was born.
How do you approach collaborations with other musicians and maintain creative synergy?
I only work with cool people. That`s it. I don`t demand to show the best skills or being professional all the time. I want to have a good time with good musicians.
After that all problems, creative or personal can be solved easily.
