Weak Daze “Sleeping Awake”

“Sleep Awake” finds Weak Daze escalating towards a dark, reverberant ecstasy. The hard-hitting banger presents an even more imaginative mix of indie, emo, and rock as the band continues to evolve and expand its sonic palettes. Moving from a straight-forward emotional rawness, the band takes the direction to focus on textural richness in this release, which gifted the song a slightly different color from the rest.

Initially gained traction through Chico’s indie scene, Weak Daze is a four-piece band from North California. Their signature song structure involves an ever-evolving journey that takes the listeners to a great distance, exploring the extremes and contrasts of emotions.

This characteristic is pushed further in “Sleep Awake.” Weak Daze presents a gradual shift of emotions and atmosphere, adding more dimension to their storytelling. From stepping into a mystically dark and lost place between the mountains and the stars, the calling for truth and confrontation is strengthening as the song progress, moving faster and hitting harder.

Weak Daze takes us to a fully realized, unmistakable moment of emotional rawness as the emo side takes full control. Like being fully naked in the rain, unapologetic and vulnerable. There’s so much in their music to connect to, whether it is a cathartic release or an imaginative art form, Weak Daze seems to give more to their listeners.
