Patricio Anabalon Releases “Danza” ( Patricio Anabalon & Silvio Rodríguez)
In a historic collaboration that unites generations and musical styles, Chilean singer-songwriter Patricio Anabalón releases his most recent single, “Danza”, together with the legendary Cuban troubadour Silvio Rodríguez. This new work not only features the unmistakable voice of Rodríguez, but has also been enriched by the brilliant arrangement and production of the outstanding Chilean guitarist and composer Javier Farías.
With “Danza”, the duo between Patricio Anabalón and Silvio Rodríguez delves into a diverse and captivating poetic and musical territory. The arrangement by Javier Farías – who has participated with such prominent musicians as the guitarist of the band The Police, Andy Summers; the bandoneonist of Astor Piazzolla's sextet, Daniel Binelli; the jazz guitarist Mike Stern or the classical guitarist Eliot Fisk – becomes the backbone of the single, introducing layers and sound textures that provide depth and musical diversity to each measure, creating an enveloping and unique atmosphere in the genre of the current author's song.
On the other hand, the participation of the Cuarteto Austral and the Chilean percussionist Felipe Candia, provide the song with musical elements that perfectly complement the poetic proposal of the song, elevating it to a more sophisticated level and thus converting its presence into a kind of tribute to the rich troubadour tradition of which Silvio Rodríguez has been a relevant figure in recent decades worldwide.
Also noteworthy is the participation of Tomás Pérez in the recording and mixing, of Gonzalo “Chalo” González in the mastering and of Eliani Luzardo, Cuban illustrator, in the art of the single.
