Olivia Booth Releases “VICTIM”
This track is written and performed by emerging Indie Artist Olivia Booth. From Warrington she moved to Brighton aged 16 and spent two years studying and performing music before returning to Manchester to study songwriting at BIMM University. Aged 20, she is now gigging regularly across the North West particularly Manchester and Liverpool, and performs with a full backing band or acoustically to suit the gig.
Olivia Booth on vocals with recording session support from Kian Mulenga (Drums) Josh Owen (Bass), and Ed Whittaker (Lead Guitar. Produced, mixed and mastered by Jonathan Tringham at Allo Sound Studios, Widnes (The Crawlers, Jamie Webster). Inspired by some Manchester based Indie bands the track self-written by Olivia Booth delivers on dark mood, rhythmic melody, sharp lyrics and a tantalising vocal! This song further establishes her striking drum and guitar indie pop-rock sound and her place as one of the most exciting young female artists emerging on the indie scene and representing the voice of a new generation.
Inspired by a friendship based on a façade, where the perception of one side’s victimhood is portrayed to the outside world yet the truth is very different. This track identifies the turmoil of being manipulated and misrepresented resulting in vulnerability and loss of trust for the real victim, with the need to redress the balance and take back control. This song will resonate with most people who have been through the same thing. VICTIM is one of those personal crusades an anthem that will be played on repeat!
This song gives an insight into my soul. I have no idea how this keeps happening but in a world of almost perpetual victimhood it is sometimes difficult to see who exactly is the victim and who is the master manipulator. I hope the song lyrics resonate with people who have been in the situation where they realise why have been taken advantage of with false friendships and empowers them to take control and stand up for themselves!
