How does "Boss Boi" reflect your musical journey and growth as an artist?

Man, "Boss Boi" perfectly captures my musical journey and growth as an artist, bro. This track is a blend of everything that defines me musically, from off-kilter pop-trap vibes to raw pop-rap and hip-hop rock energy. Influences from Kid Cudi, Kanye West, and Lil Uzi Vert shine through, but with my unique twist. This song is all about power, emotion, and the grind—it shows where I started and where I'm headed in my music career.

Were there any memorable or standout moments during the recording sessions for "Boss Boi?"

Oh, for sure, King! One standout moment was when we laid down the intro. The piano keys hit, and I jumped outta my seat like, "Yo, we got something here!" It was wild. I could hear the whole song in my head, and everyone around me scrambled to set up the mic before I lost that melody. That rush, that energy—it was electric, family. Moments like that are what makes the creative process so dope.

What has been one of your most favorite memories along the path to making this track?

Bro, one of the best parts was collaborating with some incredible talents specifically for "Boss Boi." BeatsbyChe, who created the beat, brought insane energy to the project, and Big Rula, who mixed and mastered the tune, added the perfect finishing touch. Big Rula works with Swae Lee, and BeatsbyChe has collaborated with Lil Wayne, so the quality is top-tier. Each session was a celebration of creativity and growth. Seeing everyone vibe with the track as it came together—that’s a memory I’ll always treasure.

Can you tell us more about you as an artist?

I’m Molombo, a Congolese-American artist from Denver, Colorado. My mission is to uplift and empower through my music. I create everything from laid-back pop-trap to new pop-rap and hip-hop new wave, always keeping it real with personal and spiritual vibes. My sound is a mix of all my influences and experiences, creating something authentic that connects deeply with my audience. I'm all about storytelling and building community through my art.

What role do you feel emotions play in your music, and how do you channel them into your performances?

Emotions are everything, King. They're the heartbeat of my music. In "Boss Boi," you can feel the triumph and perseverance because it’s all real—it's my life in a track. I channel my emotions through every beat, every vocal, and every performance. When I step on stage, I’m not just performing; I’m living those emotions and sharing them with the crowd. It’s about creating a connection and making sure everyone feels the passion and energy I put into my music.
