Milo Kobayashi On the Making Of “fly in the milk”

What was the creative process like for this particular song?

I was just going off the feelings of watching donald trump sign in executive order after order and then blaming the plane crash that killed 67 people on DEI, which was basically saying black people/people of color are to blame for this tragedy and I started voicing my opinion on how that wasn't right and racist people coming out of nowhere calling me racial slurs even though I was the only black face around white spaces for the majority of life. It was kind of a reminder that it will be they see me as, no matter how "proper" you talk.

Were there any challenges or breakthrough moments during the songwriting process for "fly in the milk?"

There really weren't any challenges, but the breakthroughs were how easy it felt everything flowed together.

What impact do you hope this song will have on your audience?

I hope that it gives the kids who look and talk like me a sense of community, not feeling alone in this feeling?

Can you tell us more about you as an artist?

I am an experimental artist but I always put the art first and foremost.

Where do you find inspiration for your songs or musical ideas?

I find inspiration from everyday life and movies and tv shows.
