Live In Color On the Making Of “Yes To Me.”</a>
What was the initial spark or idea that led to the creation of "Yes To Me?"
That has to be the bass-line. We knew we were looking for something groovy and dancy and when Melker showed the bass-line for the rest of us alongside the lyrics “The hardest thing… na na na… yes to me” everything came to us very quickly. The structure was set almost within an hour and the lyrics were finished the day after.
What do you like the best about "Yes To Me?"
What we like the best is that it’s been a very educating and self discovering process. It’s very different from anything we’ve released before, yet we can still feel that it is “Live In Color”. The creation of the song has taught us to dare to go outside our comfort zone and discover a different side of our musical creativity.
What impact do you hope "Yes To Me" will have on your audience?
We want to make them dance like nobody is watching! It’s a break-up-song but at the same time it’s a positive feel-good-song.
How did your band memebers initially come together?
It all actually started out as a theatrical play after Jesper (singer) asked Anton and Linus (his brothers) and his cousin Viktor to make a concert for him and his girlfriend, playing their favorite songs. After that, they thought they could as well spend some of all the time they spent together striving towards a common interest, being in a band.
After some guest appearances it felt natural to also bring their childhood friend Tim into the group and a few years later Melker joined meanwhile Viktor dropped out because of personal reasons.
What are your future goals or aspirations as a band?
Ten years ago we started off this journey asking ourselves what we wanted to have achieved in ten years and we pretty much agreed upon that we wanted to have shared our music with the world, spread it to all corners of the earth and affected people from all over the globe. In ten years you become pretty good at preparing yourself for another year of chasing dreams, but not as much prepared for the moment when you realize you’ve fulfilled them. At the moment we’re about to head to the other side of the earth attending a gala we’re nominated for and might even receive an award, so right now we’re just trying to embrace the fact that we’re living the dream we got ten years ago.
We don’t know exactly what our future goals are but we do know that we want to keep on delivering meaningful music to the world, since we’ve seen that it does affect people.
