Lido Beach On the Making Of “Era One”
What was the initial spark or idea that led to the creation of "Era One?"
“Era One” was one of three recent compositions sparked by a recent breakup. For a frame of reference, I hadn’t written a song since prior to Covid. Pain causes art and I hope that my situation helps others going through something challenging.
How does this single fit into your overall artistic vision and what can listeners expect from you in the future?
The three new songs on this EP are stylistically and lyrically different but they all convey a different stage of grief, which can be experienced without a literal death. The full EP is coming out on October 2 with an animated lyric video for “I Never Pulled Your Trigger.”
What was your favorite moment in making the music video?
The whole day was overwhelmingly positive and collaborative. Chad Fjerstad killed it as director and the band Ass Life (yes, Ass Life) were fantastic frenemy cast members in the “Stand By Me” vein.
Can you tell us more about you as a band?
LB is essentially me. On this EP I did everything but the drums. It’s a lot but it’s creatively fulfilling.
How would you describe your band's overall stage presence and the energy you bring to your live shows?
When we rock out as a power trio, we’re soaked by the end of the set. The live show is quirky and the banter is unpredictable.
