Laura Sea On the Making Of “Certified Anti-depressant”

Is there a person/event that stimulated the creation of "Certified Anti-depressant?"

No specific person or event. This song is based off my personal experience and struggles with depression.

Was there any challenge that you encountered while making the track?

I wanted to encorporate a piano melody into the song and struggled to make it work with the genre (pop punk). I didn't want it to be too out of place but at the same time add a unique sound to the song.

Were there any memorable or standout moments during the recording sessions for this song?

I really enjoyed tracking vocals for the chorus. It's such a catchy, emotional song and fun to sing. I also enjoyed tracking the piano, as that is more natural for me as a classically trained pianist.

How did you get started in music, and what inspired you to become a singer-songwriter?

I've been writing music since I was in high school and have been in piano lessons for even longer. It let me build a good musical background to start writing songs. I wanted to become a singer-songwriter to share my music with people. I write about overcoming struggles, mental health, and finding your place in the world. I think a lot of what I write about is relatable for most people. I want to share enlightening messages in my songs with my audience.

Are there any specific themes or messages that you aim to convey through your music?

I generally try to convey different feelings and emotions that you feel in certain situations of life, and provide an uplifting message in my songs. A lot of my music is written about overcoming hardships and trying to help people through a difficult time by portraying empathy and also sharing a positive message at the end.
