Kepa Lehtinen On the Making Of ’Unet’

Can you talk about any specific themes or motifs that run throughout 'Unet?'

The songs are like vague memories from dreams. You remember the atmosphere when you wake up.

Were there any moments in the recording process where you knew you had something special?

For me, the song I'm working on is always the best in the world at that moment. That's the only way to do this for me.

Can you talk about any standout tracks on the album and what makes them special to you?

"Sota" (war in Finnish) is hard for me to listen to. It was born out of my anxiety about the state of the world.

Are there specific musical elements or techniques you enjoy experimenting with to create something fresh and innovative?

My way of using the theremin is unique.

Can you share an example of a composition where you aimed to evoke a particular emotion?

I am very satisfied with the track "Kesä" (Summer in Finnish). In that, I think I manage to reach the bittersweet atmosphere of a summer day.
