Kate Keller Releases “whiplash”
Can you briefly describe what the song/each song is about?
"Whiplash" centers around the feeling that your inability to hold back and not get overly-excited about a situation scares other people away and gives them, well... whiplash! If you're tired of putting your foot in your mouth and wondering once again if you are the problem, then this self-deprecating folk/pop anthem is for you!
Is there a particular ethos behind the single/EP/album or any particular music styles or events that inspired it?
The arrangement of this song was inspired by Maggie Roger's latest album "Don't Forget Me" and Fool's Gold by Briston Maroney.
Where was the single/EP/album recorded and who was involved in its production?
The single was recorded at Mirrortone Studios in New York City. This studio is known for working with the likes of Kim Cattrall and iconic drag queens such as Lady Bunny and Peppermint.
Who are the band members and what do they play?
The Kate Keller band is comprised of 6 members: Kate (songwriter, lead singer, acoustic guitar, music director, producer); Evan Panzer (keyboard, background vocals, co-music director); Mike Andronico (lead/rhythm guitar); Tara Hailey (bass, background vocals); Shane O'Connell (lead/rhythm guitar), and Jeremy Yaddaw (drums + percussion).
Are there any other interesting or amusing happenings – no matter how small – that the band have been involved with that would be of interest to those who like your music?
We are like a modern Fleetwood Mac minus the straining drama. Many of our songs are inspired by each other and are co-written together.
