Karen Salicath Jamali Releases ‘Dreams of Angels’
Release Date: November 22, 2024 - New York, NY – Composer and pianist Karen Salicath Jamali, also known as Karen Salicath, unveils her latest album ‘Dreams of Angels,’ a 16-track collection that captures a profound and unfiltered connection to angelic energies. Releasing on November 22, ‘Dreams of Angels’ is a journey through raw, untouched sound that immerses listeners in themes of courage, peace, healing, and divine wisdom.
Each piece on ‘Dreams of Angels’ was recorded in a single take, as Karen Salicath received it in early morning hours—around 5 a.m.—on her 80-year-old Steinway grand piano. Using only a Roland recorder and a Neumann microphone, she captured each composition exactly as it came to her, unrefined and entirely genuine. The result is an unbroken stream of music that takes listeners through ethereal soundscapes, honoring angels such as Metatron, Gabriel, Raphael, and Ariel. ‘Dreams of Angels’ is not only an album but an invitation to experience these energies as Karen Salicath did: raw, intuitive, and purely inspired.
From the opening track, "Arcangel Metatron," dedicated to the Angel of Life, to "Angel Raphael," the powerful Angel of Healing, each piece represents a different angelic presence, drawing listeners into a new emotional landscape with each transition. "White Angel," a composition inspired by Karen Salicath’s sculpture created to honor lost loved ones, has already garnered two awards from the Charleston International Music Competition. Each track is a tribute to the distinct energies of these celestial beings, reflecting Karen Salicath’s deep commitment to sharing love, compassion, and spiritual guidance through music.
Karen Salicath’s path to composing is as remarkable as her work. A visual artist for over 30 years, she turned to the piano after a near-death experience in 2012. This life-changing event awakened a new musical ability, and after a three-year recovery, she began composing intuitively—eventually leading her to over 2,500 compositions and eight solo performances at Carnegie Hall. She remains a dedicated, self-taught composer whose work transcends genres, guiding listeners into a relaxed, meditative state.
‘Dreams of Angels’ was mastered by PARMA Recordings, capturing every subtle sound as Karen Salicath intended. From the gentle tones of “Angel Sandalphon” to the triumphant energy of “Angel Michael,” the album offers a transformative listening experience that is both deeply personal and universally resonant. In her own words, Karen Salicath’s music is an “energetic embrace of love,” connecting audiences with the peaceful and compassionate presence she experienced while creating each piece.
