What was the creative process like for this particular EP?
Carefully select analogue synthesizers from the 80s with warm, rich sounds and drum machines. Catchy melodies, driving bass lines that add to the dark and moody atmosphere, programmed drum patterns with minimalist, danceable rhythms. Finding themes and lyrics that explore topics such as melancholy and existentialism.
Can you talk about the recording and production process for 'EP LICHTGESTALTEN?'
Developing sound and song ideas together. Producing in the band members' two studios, sometimes independently of each other. Mixing and fine-tuning together.
Which song do you like the best and why?
"Broken dreams" is perhaps the catchiest song, but it's really hard to choose a favourite.
Can you share a bit about your musical background and the journey that led you to where you are today?
We've been making music for as long as we can remember. We played synthesizers and guitar in various bands in the 80s and then discovered our love of analogue synthesizers and drum machines through bandmates.
What are your future goals or aspirations as a musician?
The Cure, Depeche Mode and New Order influenced us musically.
