What's the story behind this release?
It took three years for No Place to Go to evolve into the a finished release. Originally written in memory of a loved one who passed when James was only 14, it’s been a cathartic process for James as he’s matured into a young man and more sophisticated songwriter. Grief is just love, with No Place to Go is a concept that has helped James get through tough times as a young man and deal with his own mental health. He hopes it’s a message that resonates with his listeners.

No Place to Go is the final single release from James’s debut EP, “This Might Get Complicated”. It was partially funded by a grant from FACTOR Canada and previous singles have been featured on CBC Radio ONE and Hot 89.9 in Canada and online.
Where did the recording take place?
Recorded in Toronto, Canada in the studio originally owned by Metric and recently used to record “Blame My Ex”, the 2024 Juno’s Album of the Year by The Beaches.

Do you have any recent or upcoming performances to highlight?
James played Ottawa’s legendary Rainbow Bistro this fall as a preview of his upcoming EP. He is actively booking for the 2025 festival circuit in Canada and United States.
