Hugo Cottu Releases “Seventeen”

Hello my name is Hugo Cottu, I am a French/English singer-songwriter and producer from London, UK. My upcoming single, "Seventeen," is a project close to my heart as it reflects on the challenges of growing up and the fading carefree spirit of childhood. I wrote, played, recorded and mixed the track by myself in my old room.

Influenced by Alex G, Father John Misty or Tame Impala, the record is an ode to growing up in the big city. While the light tone of the guitar makes it seem like the songs have been made by the beach drinking fresh lemonades, Hugo’s strength is that he sounds warm and solar while talking about heartbreak, love, friends and nostalgia.

This track follows my debut EP, "Portfolio," which I independently released in 2019. With over one million streams across all streaming platforms, “Portfolio,” is a collection of songs from different genres and musical colours featuring artists such as Loria Boban, who recently received support by Jamie Cullum on BBC Radio2.

I've also had the pleasure of working as a full-time guitarist and producer. Notable collaborations include performances with Saint Savior and recording alongside Grammy-awarded producers Matt-Ross Spang and Andrija Tokic for the band Belle Roscoe.
