GLEET Releases Of ‘24’

From the intriguing, burgeoning artist GLEET is the highly anticipated album, '24', - an ambitious concept project that is a perfect representation of a 24-hour period on Earth, blending musical experimentation with a distinct lyrical storytelling. Each of the album's 24 tracks represents an hour of the day, mapped to a corresponding major or minor key on the circle of fifths. The result is a unique sonic journey that mirrors the passage of time, beginning at midnight (A minor) and moving around the clock to reflect the moods and emotions tied to different points in the day. The 24 tracks explore diverse perspectives—from a jaguar in the Amazon to a disgruntled AI and a refugee— painting a vivid picture of the world today across a broad spectrum of provocative views. Recorded across different time zones and continents, ‘24’ is both a bold musical exploration and a reflection on the complexities of life on Earth, woven together with GLEET’s signature 'scrunt' sound.

GLEET is an experimental music project born out of decades of friendship, jam sessions, and a shared love of pushing boundaries. The band’s core members, Gregor Former and Sam Neal, have been collaborating since the mid-90s, when they worked together at an off-license in London and started making up songs about their quirky customers. Over the years, their sessions, often joined by longtime friends Michael Chilokoa and later Kevin Mertens, evolved into epic multi-day jams where drum loops, synths, guitars, and bass collided in chaotic, genre- defying soundscapes. What began as a series of imaginary bands and wild concepts during Gregor’s time living in Bangkok morphed into something more tangible when the name GLEET was adopted in 2019, a nod to the idea of humans being Mother Nature’s gleet. The band’s sound, which they’ve coined Scrunt, is a wall of noise—layered, raw, and sometimes disjointed, yet uniquely captivating. Their avant-garde live debut in 2019 was a daring, continuous half-hour performance that, while polarizing, solidified GLEET's reputation for pushing the limits of experimental music. After lockdowns halted their momentum, Gregor resumed work on their extensive archive of jams, culminating in the release of GLEET’s debut album, Pleased To Gleet You, in March 2023. GLEET’s music is a direct result of long-lasting friendships, creative spontaneity, and the relentless pursuit of something different.
