Gary Dranow Releases “Shimmering”

Is there a particular ethos behind the single/EP/album or any particular music styles or events that inspired it?

From the War in Ukraine to Global warming in the upcoming Mother's Angry to the unbreakable love between a dog and her human, the band draws on world events to very personal stories. Similar to Gary's previous album, released May 26, 2023, Destiny Road, the boys are not afraid to reveal their most vulnerable moments in their music.

Can you briefly describe what the song/each song is about?

“Shimmering” is a song that Gary penned about his High School sweetheart Janine and their heart-breaking eventual breakup. Gary has been searching for Janine to share his song with her, but so far, to no avail.

Were there any notable or amusing happenings surrounding the recording/production of the EP?

As above, list whatever might be of relevance. What's funny is now that Gary and Chris have put the final touches on the Never Give Up album they have formed a project under the name Astralix and are writing EDM songs. The first one, The Rhythm Fills My Soul, will be dropped within the next month.

Please provide a one or two-line personal quote that can be attributed to a band member, about either the band themselves or the release.

Obviously the more eye-catching this is the better. "Gary Dranow and Chris Zoupa have penned melodies that echo in the soul; twenty-six songs that are a testament to music's timeless allure." - Jason Jones.

Have you played any notable gigs, festivals or other events? Likewise radio or TV appearances?

Right now, the group's song The Cry of War is the number one English Hard Rock song in Ukraine. Gary's Ukrainian version is being released in Ukraine in two weeks featuring Roman Burda on Harp and Michael (Misha) Naprozny doing the translation and vocals in Ukrainian.
