FHMY Releases “my blue heaven”

FHMY introduces a poignant song in the realm of indie music, blending influences from math rock, shoegaze, emo and post-rock. FHMY, delves into the depths of his personal experiences and traumas, crafting a narrative that explores themes of abandonment, male isolation, avoidance, and negligence.

Infusing his work with a unique blend of nostalgia and innovation, FHMY incorporates elements from his childhood and adolescence. His compositions feature evocative samples from anime, gaming, and old movies and books that have left a lasting imprint on his soul.

This project stands as FHMY's personal endeavor to create music that people will remember him by.

FHMY is currently working on his debut album, ‘The World You Grew Up in Does Not Exist Anymore (unannounced),’  to be released Q1 2025, which will explore further deeper his personal experiences, realizations and personal struggles with social isolation.

“my blue heaven” is a joint composition between FHMY & AQL, 2 suburban music friends from Maadi and Haram (literally translating to Pyramid) in Cairo. Their bond deepened further as they battle societal dynamics, relationship changes, childhood traumas, loss of family and friends, as well as negligence overall. This single is the first of 3 created between the duo.

“Chery! Oh Chery!” 

“Chery! Oh Chery!” Originally a demo called "Elephants! Elephants! and then "Japanese Fever Dream" written back in summer 2023, it was inspired by Japanese Haikus,FHMY made the song to be in the form of the haiku in terms of instrumentation, as haikus are 3 lines, 5 syllables, with the main melody line being 3 then 5, its inspired by the haiku, A Poppy blooms by Katsushika Hokusai, a haiku where he says "write, erase, rewrite'', and no matter what you do, things will always be complex as long as you enable it.

“Egyptian Football”

Named after the band American Football, “Egyptian Football” is a tribute to the band, while incorporating his home country. The single is about loss and isolation, memories lost and memories that will never be regained. It blends math rock and emo harmonies with 4 layers of guitars over each other to create a complex delicate harmony, while at the same time, featuring gaming samples and melodies inspired by the famous Legend of Zelda.

“memoriesyouwillneverfeelagain”

The debut track from FHMY, features complex math rock time signatures with post rock influences. The track focuses on a character who must decide whether to rely on himself or ask the support of others, he is trapped by a Dulcinea and a caretaker that he depends on, limiting his abilities to function as a sole individual. The outro features a poem written by Arseny Tarkovsky called Life, telling the character that life must move on. This poem is featured in the movie Mirrors(1975) by Andrey Tarkovsky, where it was sampled from.
