Feature: Popopportunity Decodes “Desire”

How did you come up with the idea?

It's our fourth release and we really wanted to make an old fashioned danceable popsongs. We focused on a 90s vibe. And I really wanted to use ad catchy organ! Piano.

Can you talk about the recording and production process for "Desire?"

It took us 6 months to achieve this. With a lot of experimenting. Also, we changed our female vocals midway. So we had to basically start over again. Luckily we found Kim Malou. She fitted in perfectly, with a great song and very good ideas that really uplifted the song.

What did you enjoy most about making "Desire?"

The entire process. And being around wonderful people to work with.

How do you ensure that your creative vision aligns with the artist's while maintaining their unique style?

I'm the executive producer and basically everything was my idea. Luckily I could surround myself with great musicians and professionals.

How do you balance the artistic aspects of your music with the business side of the industry?

That's very difficult. We hand a great song with a lot of potential. I invested already about 60K in euros and now it all comes down to this one opportunity to enter the right door to get airplay and the right connections...
