Feature: Olesia Glants Decodes “Movin”

Can you tell us about the inspiration behind "Movin" and the story it tells?

I drew inspiration from a tune that became "Movin," a motif that perfectly matched my internal state, requiring maximum yet legal relaxation. After hearing excerpts of different electronic music melodies, I aspired to create a potent concoction. This aural drug would entice a listener, alleviate and take their edge off to relax and begin fantasizing.

The story conveyed in the accompanying music short film centers around a heroine who was recently chastised by her boss again. Due to incredible mental stress, the girl tears off her "old skin," enlists a pair of her friendly colleagues, and kidnaps the menacing boss in the dead of the big city night—they dance around him, putting him in a hypnotized, altered state of mind. Everything around them becomes mystic and extraordinary, and reality is blurred and intertwined with the otherworldly—the viewer doubts the chain of events but enjoys the show.

How do you feel this song represents your artistic identity?

I have a unique way of experiencing and creating music. Thanks to my education—I graduated from music school, college, and conservatory—I do not seek to make a hit. Instead, I explore different ways of influencing the human mind via dispatching melodies, and in doing so, I strive to lift their spirits and inspire them to switch to an open-minded state of unbound exploration and perception.

What was your favorite moment in making the music video?

Probably, the moment that car took off into the air—that was my first ever experience with such visuals and production. "Movin" is my career's most ambitious and fantastic video work so far. Twenty-four hours of nonstop shooting, and they were so worth it.

Can you tell us a bit about yourself and how you got started in music?

I've been studying and playing music since the tender age of five. Despite many years of practice behind me, I always have doubts and concerns, but on the other hand, I'm flooded with ideas and creative energy. I want to create something unique and incredible, and I'm thrilled to see where this journey takes me.

How do you seek opportunities for personal and artistic growth in your musical journey?

People worldwide are very receptive to my music, constantly sharing their feedback and supporting me. They genuinely believe in my talent, sometimes more than I do. It motivates me to continue creating and sharing incredible things.
